Welcome to the Brazilian Research in Intensive Care Network – BRICNet homepage. BRICNet is a Brazilian independent network to conduct and to promote multicenter epidemiologic studies and clinical trials in intensive care.

Brazilian hospitals and research centers have been making significant contributions to recent international multicenter studies. The SAPS 3 Study, the Conflicus Study and, more recently, the EPIC 2 Study, promoted by the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM), had received major contribution from several Brazilian centers. The insertion in high-quality studies demonstrates the potential for the creation of a clinical intensive care in Brazil. The BRICNet wishes to be the platform for these high-quality clinical studies. Networks, as the BRICNet, are the cornerstone of scientific development in intensive care in countries as Canada, Australia, France and England. The steering comitee is composed of a panel of experts and researchers in intensive care. We hope that the BRICNet, acting as an independent clinical network, creates the appropriate scenario for the conduction of multicenter studies providing valuable clinical information that results in the improvement for care of critically ill patients.
